The cabin sits among a handful of shacks spread across a few acres of trees and shrubs at Llansteffan, with the beach and the Tywi estuary right on the doorstep. Many guests come back year after year, and the site tends to fill with other dog owners, which gives it a relaxed, considerate feel.
Walking is the big draw. Guests talk about beach walks first thing, longer rambles up the estuary and round to Scott's Bay, birdwatching on the way, and an easy stroll to the village pub in the evening. Inside it is cosy rather than polished, with a comfortable bed, a wood burner for cooler nights and no TV or wifi, which most visitors see as part of the appeal. Up to two pets are allowed per booking, and plenty of guests bring a pair.
The garden is the main thing to plan around. It is not enclosed, so dogs need to stay on a lead or a long line, and rabbits are a constant temptation.
