Robin's Nest, Foolow

Robin's Nest is a small timber cabin tucked away at Brosterfield Farm near Foolow, a quiet village in the White Peak, and it makes an easy, low-key base for exploring the Peak District with a dog. Walking starts at the door, with far more within a short drive, and the setting is properly secluded: owners travelling with dogs come back to the wide views and the quiet more than anything else.

The cabin is compact but warm and well stocked, with a wood-fired hot tub outside and enough room for a couple and a dog to settle in comfortably. Guests with dogs describe it as genuinely dog-friendly rather than merely dog-tolerant, and the village pub is close enough to walk to, which matters when the alternative is driving after a day on the hills.

A few things are worth knowing. Dogs are asked to stay off the furniture, which guests generally find fair enough given how many people pass through, so pack a blanket or a bed if yours likes the sofa. The cabin sits a short walk from the parking, so plan for carrying kit, dog gear and shopping across that gap; it has been flagged as awkward for anyone with mobility problems.
