You are on Princes Street, a few minutes from the pubs, restaurants and takeaways on the main street, a short walk downhill to the shops, and a short walk uphill to a Victorian public park with a bandstand, gardens and a kiosk, which makes an easy first and last walk of the day without getting in the car.
Two well behaved dogs are welcome. Renting the whole cottage means no shared corridors and no other guests to negotiate, and the kitchen is properly set up for self-catering if you would rather eat in after a long day out on the coast.
The one thing to plan around is the front door. It opens straight onto the pavement and the road, with no hallway or gate between the cottage and the street, so there is no natural airlock for a dog inclined to bolt, and passing traffic is audible inside. Guests travelling with dogs have found that combination makes it hard to leave a dog alone in the cottage, so budget for taking yours with you. There is a small courtyard at the back, though it has needed a sweep before use. Ceilings are low in places, which is charm rather than a fault unless you are tall.
