How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 5 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from Agoda - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 89 Agoda guest reviews overall, averaging 9.2/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: June 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet-friendly summary
Godrevy Lighthouse View is a stylish, comfortable apartment in a quiet Carbis Bay neighbourhood just outside St Ives, and with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs it makes a relaxed base for a dog-friendly stay on this stretch of Cornwall's north coast.
Dogs - and puppies - are made to feel at home here. Guests travelling with them describe an amazing dog-friendly place with lovely hosts, Vicky and Robin, who go out of their way to help, even allowing early check-in. The apartment itself draws consistent praise for being spotlessly clean, stylish and well-equipped for self-catering.
The location is the real winner. It is around a 15-minute walk to Carbis Bay and its beach and roughly 30 minutes into St Ives, with parking right in front of the property - a genuine bonus given how hard parking is around Carbis Bay. A large supermarket is close by, buses run to Penzance, Truro and St Ives, and the street is quiet and peaceful, with several guests noting how well they slept.
A few minor practicalities are worth knowing. The kitchen has a hob and microwave but no oven, the sofa bed is on the firm side, the wifi can be slow, and the driveway is a little narrow to get into. None of these troubled most guests, but they are easy to plan around.
It is a strong choice for a couple or small family with a dog who want a comfortable, well-located base near Carbis Bay's beach and St Ives, with easy parking and the north-Cornwall coast on the doorstep.
