Staveley and the southern fells are within easy reach without committing to the Windermere traffic.

Two caveats before booking. The cottage stands above its parking area and is reached by a climb, which is fine for most dogs but awkward if you are carrying luggage or travelling with someone less steady on their feet. And the single-dog limit is firm, so this is a one-dog property rather than a base for a pair. For a couple with one dog wanting quiet, greenery and a proper welcome close to Kendal, it is an easy recommendation and a 4.4/5 paw rating.
