Chy An Gweal Farm Coach House is a modern, well-kept house on the road between St Ives and Carbis Bay, and it works well as a base for a Cornish break with a dog. Up to three pets are welcome per booking, so a multi-dog household is not ruled out. The property is secure, with its own parking and a doorbell camera, and dog owners who have stayed describe it as spotless and comfortably finished.

The setting is a good part of the appeal. A Cornish pub a short walk down the road takes dogs and does a decent meal, there is a supermarket a few seconds away for supplies, and a small green area across the road gives the dog somewhere to sniff about before bed. Both St Ives and Carbis Bay are walkable, though it is uphill coming back, and the beach and coast path are close enough to build a day around.

One layout point is worth planning for. The living space and kitchen are upstairs, with the bedroom and bathroom downstairs, which is the reverse of most houses. Owners have found it takes a day or so for a dog to settle into the new arrangement, particularly one used to following you to bed. It has not been a problem in practice, but it is easier if you expect it.

The feedback here is not uniformly positive, and the exception matters. There has been at least one arrival where the house turned out not to be able to take the dog, and the booking was lost without a refund. Whatever sat behind that, it is a good reason to agree your dog with the owner at the point of booking, in writing, rather than relying on the pet-friendly listing alone.

Best suited to owners of one to three settled dogs who want a high-standard, secure house within walking distance of two Cornish beaches, and who will confirm the dog arrangements in advance.
