58 Newquay View is a private holiday caravan at Newquay Bay Resort, on the Porth side of Newquay, and it makes a relaxed base for a north Cornwall beach holiday with a dog. Because it is a privately let caravan rather than a hotel room, you and your dog have your own front door and your own space, with the run of a holiday park around you.

Guests travelling with pets describe an easy, welcoming stay: staff who are genuinely friendly towards dogs, and few restrictions on where pets can go around the site. The caravan itself comes in for praise as clean and well equipped, and the host is quick to reply and happy to point people towards the best spots nearby.

The park does set out clear rules, and they are the sensible sort. Dogs must be on a lead everywhere around the park and must not be left alone in the accommodation, and a handful of park facilities are closed to dogs on hygiene grounds, with assistance dogs exempt. Poop bags are available on site. Breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act are not accepted, and nor are dogs that are legally required to be muzzled - worth checking before you book if that applies to you.

The location is the real draw for dog owners. It is around a twenty-minute walk to the nearest beach, with Watergate Bay five minutes away by car and the wide sands of Mawgan Porth about ten - both well known among dog walkers, particularly outside the summer months when seasonal beach restrictions apply. The South West Coast Path runs along this stretch of cliffs, so longer walks are easy to find.

As with any caravan the indoor space is cosy rather than sprawling, so it best suits one or two settled dogs rather than a large pack. It works well for families and couples after an easygoing, dog-welcoming base within reach of some of north Cornwall's best beaches, and it earns a 4.5/5 paw rating.
